Don't spoil your sight-seeing by losing or breaking your spectacles while travelling.

How many of us remember to take their optical prescription or even a spare pair of glasses when travelling? Many travel insurance policies don't cover lost or broken spectacles and even if you are covered by your home policy, this is not much help if you are thousands of miles from your optician.

Buy before you fly

Why not buy a second pair of spectacles before you leave on your holiday or trip? You can either match your favourite frames or try out a different design to suit your holiday mood. Or, if you wear vari or bi-focals, order a single-vision pair for occasions when these might be more appropriate, for instance, playing sports.

Lost or broken?

If you are unfortunate enough to break or lose your glasses while abroad, you can log into the Specs2go site, from an internet cafe for example, and order a replacement pair. These can be sent by Swiftair for £8.00 (EU countries) or £25.00 (rest of the world) or couriered to you at a cost of between £20.00 and £30.00 depending on your destination.
